Global Textile · Fergana Valley, Uzbekistan

A field in Fergana. A shirt in Rotterdam.

One company owns every stage between those two sentences. From field to garment, the whole of it in one house — one unbroken thread.

01 · Cotton

It begins in our own soil

Seventy-five thousand hectares in the Fergana Valley. We do not buy fibre on an open market and hope. We plant it, irrigate it by drip, watch it by satellite, and pick it. Everything that follows inherits this decision.

02 · Cleaning

Everything that is not fibre is removed

Ginning separates seed from lint; carding pulls the tangle into a translucent web. What leaves this stage is nothing but cotton, combed into parallel order, ready to be given a direction.

03 · Spinning

A cloud is given a direction

On Swiss compact frames the web is drawn, twisted and condensed. Fibres that were weightless become a single continuous strand strong enough to be knitted at speed: one hundred and twenty tonnes of it every day.

04 · Yarn

Measured before it is sold

Every production lot passes the Uster laboratory: evenness, imperfections, hairiness, tensile strength. The seal travels with the cone. Nothing leaves this building on the strength of an opinion.

05 · Knitting

One thread becomes a surface

A single strand loops through itself thousands of times a second and a plane appears where there was a line. Jersey, interlock, ribana, pique: the construction decides how the finished garment will fall.

06 · Fabric

Cloth, and the way it falls

Off the machine the fabric is greige: raw, honest, unfinished. This is the moment a buyer can still feel the yarn inside the cloth, and the moment our own quality control is hardest on itself.

07 · Finishing

Colour is a promise kept

Dyeing, compacting, calendering. A lab dip is matched, approved, then repeated at scale without drift, from navy to graphite, because the water, the recipe and the machine all belong to the same house.
